Everything's Coming Up Rosés
These days, it seems like just about everything comes in Millenial Pink (TM). Sunglasses. Sneakers. Even hair dye. (Now that’s a look.) And while we might have reached peak pink when it comes to lifestyle products, there’s one place that all that pink has been a blessing: at the bar.
At Tria, we’ve always been fans of pink drinks, especially pink wine. But there’s so much more to the “Drink Pink” life than you mom’s White Zinfandel. (Sorry, Sutter Home.) Read on for our handy guide to the real way to #roseallday …
Your Instagram feed will suggest that pink beer is a new phenomenon, but the fact is, styles like Flemish Reds have been around for centuries. At Tria, we proudly pour the finest of pink beers, from funky sour Lambics to our very own (It Takes Brut to) Tango, a collaboration that we brewed ourselves with our pals at Brewery Techne and Bar Hygge: the pink beer that drinks like a pink wine. Sound too good to be true? Swing by Tria Taproom and see for yourself. This fizzy pink sipper was made for sidewalk tables on Walnut Street. Tango is a one-off brew, so join us before it’s gone. (And lucky for us, beer that drinks like rosé wine is becoming A Thing - just look at Firestone Walker Rosalie or Crooked Stave Sour Rosé. Check our tap list and menus often to see which ones we’re pouring right this second!)
You probably don’t immediately think “Tria” when you think about where to find the best cocktails in Philadelphia. But our draft cocktails at Tria Taproom are the city’s sleeper hit! They rotate frequently, but one that’s always in heavy rotation is our Cosmonaut. Made with Philly-distilled Stateside vodka, it’s a refined, grown-up version of the Carrie Bradshaw stand-by, the Cosmopolitan.
Whether from naturally pink apples or stained a magenta hue by sour cherry juice, pink cider is a go-to for beer lovers who want to drink gluten-free or wine lovers who want to lighten it up for a glass or two. Our pals at Stone & Key make a killer cherry pie version, and the innovators at Graft have even popped their pink cider into cans. Now that’s a porch pounder.
Shameless friend promotion: our gal Olga Sorzano of Baba’s Bucha (an Edible Philly “Local Hero” of 2019…!) makes some killer kombuchas, including plenty of pink-hued gems. We always have one of her fermented goodies on draft at Tria Taproom, so swing by and see what’s good. And funky. (And pink.)
Ah, here we are at last: the OG of the Drink Pink movement. Whether still or sparkling, pink wine was made for steamy summer days and sultry summer nights. From the salty watermelon fizz of pink Txakolina to the perennially craveable tart-and-floral allure of Provencal rose, Tria - guided by Wine Director Michael McCaulley - has long been Philadelphia’s best wine bar for pinkophiles. So the next time you find yourself wondering, “Where can I find pink wine near me?” Head to Tria. And don’t forget all of the other awesome ways to Drink Pink this summer.
