Insiders' Guide to Tria Sundays
Shh! (If you want to spend less than the couple at the next table.)
Tria has always been intended as an affordable indulgence, but Sunday is arguably the best day of the week for savings. If you’re the type who pursues bargain hunting like it’s an extreme sport, then our plan for extreme Sunday savings, the Sunday TRIAthon, is for you. If you’re more of an amateur saver, there’s plenty here for you to savor, too.
The Sunday TRIAthlon
We suggest you start the day at the gym. Lots of calories are on the horizon; you’ll need energy and stamina.
1. Start at Tria Cafe Wash West for Sunday School.
Sunday School dates back over a dozen years and was one of Philly’s pioneering promotions to save on the good stuff. Every Sunday, both Cafes feature a special wine, cheese and beer at a tad above half price! You also get a nice long description should your thirst for knowledge match your thirst for wine. The catch: you can only have one of each discounted item at the discount price.
2. Walk briskly to Tria Cafe Rittenhouse. Do it all over again.
The loophole to the one-of-each rule: visit the other Cafe. We can’t and won’t stop you from heading over to 18th & Sansom and repeating your Sunday School experience. It’s only 0.8 miles and should take you less than 17 minutes. We won’t judge you if you take an Uber instead of walking. On second thought, we will. It’s a TRIAthon and the walk will do you good.
3. Make Tria Taproom Sunday Supper the main event.
You can’t live on wine, cheese and beer alone, as appealing as that may sound. Sunday School x 2 was just the warm up act. Now it’s time to head over to Tria Taproom; it’s only 0.2 miles away. There you will enjoy three courses of comfort food with Taproom’s brand new Sunday Supper at an introductory price of just $22. Add dessert for just $4 more - why not? Sunday Supper is offered from noon to 9 pm. Executive Chef Brian Lofink’s menu will help you forget that tomorrow is Monday. Remember to pace yourself.
BONUS: Tria Club Membership
While you’re racking up the savings you can earn a point for every dollar you spend through the new Tria Club. Depending on how patient you are to redeem your rewards, you will save between 6% and 12% of every dollar you spend at Tria.
If you were to complete the entire Sunday TRIAthlon as a Tria Club member, you would enjoy two glasses of wine, two beers, two cheeses and a four-course dinner for about $50! You would also surprise and impress (shock and awe?) the Tria team.
